Nouns Fund Public Park Transformation
Nouns connect with nature. Thanks to Proposal 489, we brought Nounish public infrastructure to Guangzhou’s Mt. Liupian, transforming one of the area’s most visited nature parks into a real-world touchpoint for Nouns.
Details
Building on the momentum of Proposal 211, which introduced Nouns to new audiences across Shanghai, Beijing, and Chengdu, this proposal shifted the focus from cities to nature.
The team proposed to install custom-designed Nounish benches and sculptures throughout Mt. Liupian’s newly refurbished forest park. The proposal helped transform one of the area’s most visited nature parks into real-world exposure for Nouns.

What was installed? A playful, eye-catching installation that now greets thousands of hikers and tourists at the edge of the “Tear of Guangzhou” reservoir made up of 8 Nounish benches and two large art installations.

Designing for Discovery
The project helps brings Nouns into the real world and provides a public good: park benches for visitors to rest, recharge, and enjoy the space. Nouns become instantly memorable as people sit on a Nounish bench, scan a QR code, or snap a selfie in front of the Nouns sculpture.
Each installation includes a QR code leading to a mobile landing page with information on Nouns and content, localized in Chinese, helping connect deeper with Nouns.

The Mt. Liupian installations inspired social content from visitors, like hikers and tourists, bringing fresh eyeballs to Nouns without ever mentioning crypto. A true top-of-funnel approach to exposing the masses to Nouns.

Dates and Funding Details
Proposal 489 was proposed Jan 24, 2024 and funded with 64,300 USDC + 2 ETH. The project was labeled as “complete” on May 7th, 2024. More details can be found on nouns.camp.
About the Team
This public installation was spearheaded by long-time Nouns contributors, Karl and HashConfucius, who have worked on numerous projects for Nouns. As always, the team documented the journey with a series of videos moving the sculpture to the front of the rest area, at the head of a hiking route, and directly in front of Mt. Liupian’s famous lake. Since, the team went on to produce the Noun’s Pirate Ship Playground.
