Nouns Amigos

Nouns Amigos is a Nounish community helping Spanish-speaking builders, creators, and dreamers find their way into Nouns.

The Details

Back in June 2022, Nouns Amigos began as a weekly Twitter Space — Just a small window into the world of Nouns for Spanish speakers. Each week, guests from the Nouniverse were invited to share their projects and ideas. Over time, those conversations evolved into something bigger: a full-fledged community connecting people across Latin America, Spain, and beyond.

Before they ever received onchain funding, Nouns Amigos ran on pure energy and early support from the Nouns Prop House. They secured 27.47 ETH across two small grant funding rounds, via Prop.House which set them up to run their own rounds for spanish speakers, and continue to provide a space for the latin community.

By January 2023, Nouns Amigos launched its own dedicated Prop House—becoming the first major funding hub for Spanish-speaking builders in Nouns. Builders who won received ETH to build their ideas and earned an AMIGO token, which gave them the power to vote on who should win next. 

Over the next year, Nouns Amigos became one of the most active regional groups in the Nouniverse. Their community supported and funded dozens of creative projects:

Continued Funding Through Proposal 468

In December of 2023 the Amigos put up their first onchain proposal, Proposal 468, for funding. Requesting 120 ETH to continue and expand their efforts across Latin America and beyond. 

The proposal passed and the group went on to launch a year worth of Rounds and Prop House small grant rounds in different forms. A detailed update on Prop 468 can be found which highlights their accomplishments in detail, and how they distributed the funds.

Creating Belonging Through Language

Nouns Amigos isn’t just a funding pipeline. It’s a space where people feel comfortable speaking their language, asking questions, and finding collaborators. 

Their Tuesday community calls, hosted weekly at 6 PM CST (CDMX time) in the Nouns Amigos Discord, continue to be a welcoming place for new ideas, feedback, and Nounish collaboration.

Nouns Amigos is led by core contributors Mono and Lex, with a decentralized network of community leaders across the Spanish-speaking world. Together, they’ve built one of the most trusted onramps for Spanish-speaking builders in Nouns. The DUO also hosts the Nouns Fair, credited as what really helped bring Nouns Amigos to life.
